bolt Thrower

bolt Thrower es una banda de death metal de Coventry, Inglaterra. Se formaron en 1986 y lanzaron su primer álbum con el sello Vinyl Solution en 1988. Entonces cambiaron a un nuevo sello discográfico, Earache Records, pronto se convertirían en una de las bandas con mejores ventas en ese sello.

Su sello actual es Metal Blade Records. La banda ha tenido una sucesión de miembros y ha hecho gira por Europa, Estados Unidos y Australia. La banda toma su nombre de un arma del popular juego de mesa de estrategia Warhammer Fantasy Battle. Las letras y portadas de su segundo y tercer álbum fueron también basadas en Warhammer al igual que el futurístico Warhammer 40.000, con mucho de su arte que realmente fue proveído por el publicador del juego, Games Workshop. El tema general de sus letras es la guerra y sus consecuencias.

Asphyx es una banda holandesa de death metal que incorpora elementos de doom metal y thrash metal en su música.

La banda fue formada en 1987 por Bob Bagchus y Tonny Brookhuis. Eric Daniels entro como segundo guitarrista y Chuck Colli estuvo a cargo del bajo y las voces; esta formación lanzó el demo Enter the Domain. En marzo de 1989 Colli fue reemplazado por Theo Loomans y grabaron el demo Crush the Cenotaph. Entonces Brookhuis deja la banda y los tres que quedaron grabaron el álbum Embrace the Death que no fue lanzado debido a problemas con la disquera. Después Martin Van Drunen deja Pestilence ha principios de los noventa, y se une a Asphyx y firman para Century Media Records. Después del lanzamiento de su álbum debut, The Rack, se van de gira por Europa con Entombed. Siguiendo con un tour con Bolt Thrower y Benediction en 1992. Poco después de grabar su segundo álbum, Last One on Earth, Van Drunen deja la banda y sería reemplazado por Ron Van der Pol. Eventualmente Bagchus deja la banda también. Fue reemplazado por Sander Van Hoof. Su álbum auto-titulado fue lanzado en 1994 y dirigiría a la banda a su separación en 1995. El mismo año Loomans y Bagchus deciden reformar Asphyx y graban el álbum God Cries. Por ese entonces la banda lanza el álbum Embrace the Death. Sin embargo la banda se separo de nuevo después de este lanzamiento. En 1997 Soulburn fue fundada por Bagchus y Daniels y junto con el cantante y bajista de Pentacle Wannes Gubbles grabaron el álbum Feeding on Angels. En el 2000 renombraron el proyecto a Asphyx y grabaron el álbum On the Wings of Inferno con la misma alineación. Sin embargo se separaron de nuevo en el 2001. En enero de 2007, la banda se reunió con Van Drunen, Gubbels, Paul Baayens y Bagchus. No tienen intenciones de grabar un nuevo álbum, pero se concentran en las actuaciones en vivo.

Carpathian Forest

Carpathian Forest es una banda noruega de Black metal con leves influencias de Thrash metal. Fue formada por Nattefrost y Nordavind en 1990, después de su anterior banda, Grimm. Puesto que el lanzamiento del demo en 1992, ahora legendaria, Bloodlust & Perversion y Through Chasm, Caves And Titan Woods en 1993, Carpathian Forest ha ganado un culto en el estatus de la escena noruega del Black metal. Carpathian Forest es único entre las muchas bandas del Black metal por los temas que toca en sus líricas ya que no solo, generalmente, tocan temas relacionadas al satanismo, al mal, y de contra-Cristianismo; sino que también trata sobre sodomía, sadismo, depravación, suicidio, misantropía, la naturaleza y el nacionalismo. El álbum más reciente de la banda, "Fuck You All!!!!", fue lanzado el 16 de junio de 2006.
